Well done! Now with your 'tin palace',(its not a tin tent), towed by a D3, the world is at your finger tips, well most of it.
Had one for years, and in the time it takes you to load your car, drive to the airport, park, queue to check in, queue to get through security, fought your way through two hen parties, a rugby team and a group of sixteen years old to get to the bar, flown for several hours, then undergone the reverse of getting onto the plane, you could be anywhere in the UK, set up with a cold drink in your hand and the barbeque lit, enjoying some of the best scenery in the world. No brainer.
Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

You forgot the peeing rain while the others are in their trunks on a sun drenched beach, with beautiful aqua marine seas oggling the lovely ladies while sipping a cocktail

We have taken our REAL tin-tent (aluminium tent actually) down as far as the Sahara ! Not too much rain there.
Excused, always wanted an Airstream, not too keen on the polishing thoughPaul.

What ever you do DO NOT start polishing an Airstream - if you do you will likely remove the protective film and then they ARE hard work. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
Grrrr, the van we nearly bought turned out to be a donkey (glad i paid for an independent engineer to have a look at it) so the search is back on, still at least i have some nice mirrors now & didn't have the long drive to collect!
Looking for a 6 berth, 2 sets of bunks at one end (running along the length of the van not width) with a door partition (not curtain) for the kiddies, ideal layout similar tho the Avondale Argente 650/6, Elddis Crusader Supertorm or Elddis Avante 636.
Budget no more that 5k & would want awning & other bits at that sort of price for a good solid, clean van.
We don't want to go mad as it is to be our 1st & we don't know how much we'll use it so if anyone knows of one knocking around then please pm me.
Would prefer to purchase from a dealer/near to home (North East).
Chers folks.

Jester1967,
buy a magazine such as Practical Caravan, if you have not already done so, there are a lot of classified ads, and a good search facility.
I see you are based in the North East, have you thought about having a run out to Catterick caravans or Ropers in Catterick? I have used both and have found them to be reliable and very helpfull. Catterick Caravans have just won a Top Dealership award.
There may other dealership further North, but thats an area I dont know very well.Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.
Am doing a search of all local (North East) dealers constantly.Paul.
