Morning guys
Can anyone help I have just fitted the rear aux socket/12v socket into back of my base model, I have power to my 12v socket but when I tried using the aux socket with a jack lead and iPhone I get nothing apart from a clicking sound when I turn volume right up, anyone had this before I have fitted the rear seat switches in the panel and they also glow don't work at mo another project, any ideas maybe Wiggs might be able to help
Cheers

Did you also add the bit of loom from the passenger footwell kick panel to the rear of the cubby box?
I believe it is missing on base models.
Simoniz is the best person to ask as I remember he did it on his somehow. Dennis

How many aux sockets do you have? If it is more than one then you need to put a plug into the other, I needed to do that after fitting the one behind the passenger footwell. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

As far as I know the AUX line goes from the rear of the stereo to a plug/socket in the kick panel in the passenger footwell. In base models it terminates there, not connected to anything.
I believe there is another loom that on higher end models goes from here to the rear of the cubby box. You will need to add that loom if you want the newly added socket at the rear of the cubby box to work.
I did not add this loom as I was not interested in adding the cubby box aux socket. Just needed a way to connect my CarPC to the stereo. I cut the wires in the passenger footwell and soldered a 3.5mm jack there. Doing it this way was best as the audio cable is hidden Dennis

Can you take a photo of where you have plugged in the wires to the main loom (it will be somewhere around where the cubby box is), then look for the red/blue wire and check for continuity to the back of the radio (same blue red wire)
If the console is not connected to the head unit then nothing will work from the AUX socket.
