Timed Climate. Do I have it? |
|
I have a D4 MY10 HSE
When starting in cold weather a message comes up on the main screen to tell me timed climate is not available due to low battery or insufficient fuel.
The problem is I dont have timed climate as an option on my home menu screen.
I do have a FBH.
Can any one enlighten me?

its will be a general warning to tell you about fuel and low battery ...but you would have thought it would have known if you had timed climate or not G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I had this repeatedly on my MY09 car, the thing is that when you see this message it is because the temperature is low enough to require the FBH to start. If you see this message the FBH will not start and the car will take ages to warm up. Mine used to run rough as well because of the extra time taken for warm up. I used to trick the FBH into starting by once the engine aws started pulling the multi-pin on the heater and plugging it back in, it would then start.
My car had two replacement batteries and weeks in the dealerships because of this problem. I think it is caused by the smart charge system threshold being too high.
The same car used to shut down the infotainment system after about 10mins too with the low battery message.
It was a bit of a nightmare really and I chopped the car in and lost a load of money in the end because of the ongoing problems. 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE
