Headlights range

I keep wondering if the range on my headlits is correct as it seems to not really illuminate far enough on roads , so a bend on a dua carriageway will catch me out.

I have a 2006 HSE so it has the bi xenon adaptive lights.

This evening I got out and stopped (not on a dual carriageway!) and paced out how far the rane was, and it is about 30 average strides, so about 30 yards for me.

Can someone try the same fo me and let me know if this is right or wrong please!

I just wonder if the sharp finish between light and dark makes it harder on dark roads , although I'm sure my wife's scenic with xenon lights s better.

Thanks

30 sounds about right, I find the lights excellent, although they do have a sharp cut-off to the beam.

thanks - i wonder if the sharo cut off just makes it harder to see beyond that range for the bends, whereas a gentle tail off that you get with halogen lets your eyes get used to it. Just bugs me!

Add a pair of Lightforce 170s and you'll get an additional 650 metres 8)

I thought the lights on my HSE where set too low, so I ask the dealer if something could be done when it went in for it's software upgrade. They obviously didn't do anything because they are still the same. I assume they can't be adjusted anyway, as they adjust themselves.
Anyway, I don't think the bi-xenons are that great on dipped beam. They're okay, but not much better the previous vehicles with standard lamps.

The 'adaptive' bit is great though. I really like that.

I find the non-adaptive ones I got on mine very good so is the range.

I had a volvo with bi xenons and I fine the D3 ones are better.

Sorry you have to be joking the D3 xenon’s are just simply the best in the market at present (4x4's) side by side completed on X5,VC90,Toerag & Cayenne (never could spell it) Real life test. Yes the halogen light is softer merge but in real terms the halogen would never go as far as the Xenon in the first place, this will probably open the flood gates but its just what I have experienced

I seem to recall at launch the lights were one of the things reporters raved about. I love the adaptives, the little dance still makes me smile Embarassed
