Fitting additional reverse camera for Trailer/Caravan
Hi,
I have a 2010RRS which is basically a D4 Disco and have been sent in this direction from RRsport.co.uk, specifally Wigg was mentioned but cannot PM him as I dont have enough posts.
I have a factory fitted single reverse camera and also the TV module, so presumably the interface module ??
I want to fit an additional reverse camera (wireless) to my 20' Box trailer and switch between car camera and trailer camera when used. I have done a search and there is lots of info but not specific to this. I really don't want to take my dash and nav screen out if at all possible.
is it possible to get a wireless camera and receiver and plug into my interface module (under passenger seat) either with a switched splitter or direct into interface ?
Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately there is not a module for a single reversing camera .... If there's one under the passenger seat it's proberly the iPod interface .
Do you want to be able to view the camera in the trailer all the time or just when you reverse ?G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks for the reply Wiggs, I am just wanting to view the trailer view when reversing only.
I thought I may have the module because it has the TV tuner fitted, so I thought it needed some kind of interface to switch between the TV and reverse camera.
Does the feed for the single reverse camera go direct to the back of the Nav or via a module under the seat ? As I was wondering if I could just tap into the feed from the reverse camera with a splitter and feed a wireless camera into this, using a switched splitter ?
thanks..............................Adam

tv is mounted in the boot
the signal from the reversing camera goes direct to the back of the touch screen
you could interupt it with a signal splitter no problem G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Do you know where the signal wire/coax from the reverse camera goes, so I can locate it to tie into ?
I entered the secret menu and found the option for companion camera, which says is not connected. what is this and can I tie into that input ? Or is that something I would need to plug right into the back of the Nav ?
If the above is difficult to locate and get too, would it be easier to split the signal from the TV tuner in the back of car and enter the secret menu when approaching my destination to display the TV screen ie reverse camera on trailer ? Do you know where the Tv module is located ? Is it where the wires are for the towbar electrics ?
