Fitting Tow Electrics MY12 - Bumper on or off?

Hi

Can the tow electrics be enabled in the CCF before they are actually fitted? Or do they need to be fitted first?

I've asked the stealership to enable as part of PDI, but the sales chap isn't sure if it can be done before the actual electrics are fitted - which I'm intending to do myself.

Thanks

EDIT: Title amended to reflect extra question below.

Yes they can be configured before being fitted.

Just ensure they use the add accessory function rather than modify CCF.

Also - is it necessary to take the bumper off to fit them? There seem to be conflicting reports...

You dont have to take the rear bumper off.

If you take the bumper off you can use all the fixings clips on the harness and fit the connector bracket.

And if you don't take the bumper off - does not being able to use all the clips and the connector bracket matter?

And what is a connector bracket??!!

Hello,

I did this on my MY2010 with taking the bumber off. Everything was done in approx. 1 1/2 hour.

Edit: Found this on an other thread: - on the D4 it's nearly the same.

Greetings
