Best road tyre?
What's the best road tyre (19")? My Pirelli Scorpion Zeros dont seem to be lasting very long.
Most surfaces would be road, hardly any off-roading (but would be nice to have the capability). Would want decent grip when it snows (the Scorpio Zeros are fairly good, or at least were when they wre brand new).
Am I best staying with what I have or is there anything better wear-wise?

Scorpion ATRs are Pirelli as well? What makes them better than Zeros?

Excellent on & off road (not quite a full mud) and last 45k miles.

You also have the fantastic tried and tested General AT, some say that if it was a film it would win an Oscar.
General AT and Pirelli ATR are very good tyres, also worth a look is the Toyo Open Country.
I await the flack.

New to the site -thinking of some General ATs to replace "slick" Scorpions after 22k. Bit miffed my old 17" rims from D3 won't fit over D4 discs & calipers, so no spare winter tyres this year! What are ATs like in snow, anyone?

General AT's are very good all round.
If you want to stop with Toyo just use the brakes, it helps.

I've done some extreme offloading with 255 50 20 ContiCrossContact UHP, and must say, I'd never want any other...
Grip in dry is phenomenal...
Grip on snowy surface not tested yet, waiting for my new set to arrive

Further to everyone's replies, I have received prices from a tyre supplier. They say that Scorpion ATR and General AT only come in H rating (130mph) but D3 originals (and Scorpion Xeros) are V rated (149mph).
Presumably a D3's not going to go 130mph so are they okay?

H is fine on D3s, certainly on up to & incl 06MY. ISTR that changed to V after that but D3s were still supplied on H Contis in poverty spec.

I've been quoted:
Pirelli Scorpion ATR £ 241.20 ea
General AT £ 187.60 ea
Goodyear wrangler £ 210.00 ea
Seems expensive, or are these prices about right?
