This morning on my way to the office, a yellow warning under the temp guage, along with a bong and message "check brake pads" came up.
Nothing wrong with this, the car goes in for 60k service on Thursday, get pads changed - no problem. I had a look this evening and its the rear pads.
Except this, every time I brake the bong and the message appears, It drove me mad today, I have 1000 miles to do Mon/Tues /Wed before the service and this will drive me nuts.
Can I simply pull the sensor wire to stop the bongs? I will get them changed at service, and there is still at least 4mm on the pads.

did the same on my Audi last year - worked as on the audi the disc simply connects or forms a circuit with the exposed metal in the pad - cut the wire (break circuit) end of problem - until you need new discs "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."
