I was looking the other day at the D3 and the D4 and even the sport to see where they could go - given the kit isnt available for the D3 and RRS. And the price is shocking.
I sport and the D4 have an ideal place to locate them in lower part of bumper near/in skirt. D3 is another matter
Philips do some fantastic units that are very easy to wire up - and perform like OEM should. And they are E marked for DRL use. All you connect is 12 volt to battery and one 12 volt feed to your side light so that it either dims them (8 led version) or switches them off. You are not allowed to have 2 pairs of sidelights on so if you fit dimmable ones then the standard sidelights need removing - or you get them to go off.
I have to drive with the lights on 24/7 in Poland and its a waste of xenon bulbs and ballasts
sorry about the picture but the iphone 3 is to be blamed:

Before anyone gets their instruction and codes out i will say the following
According to the instructions DRL lights are being treated light aux lights with regards to distances. On the D3 its impossible to comply to these without cutting holes in the bumper below the fogs. i went for the smaller units in the location fitted to get the maximum distance between them. They could have been fitted on the bottom of the valence but they would be a bit closer and i felt they looked best there
i doubt anyone would ever get the tape measure out. They dont want you mounting them too high nor too low nor worst of all too close together.
The manufacturers on the other hand seem to do what the hell they like - and dont dim nor turn the drl lights off
regards

Thanks for the replies so far.
Land rover position them in the lower valance in the two small perforated inlets below the front fogs, is this a correct position? as i notice other manufacturers have them close to the headlights.
Thanks

yes the D4 position complies with the dimensions - from memory:
600 min between them, min 230mm from ground max 1.4, and up to 300mm from edge of car
I would have put them there on the D3 but its not really an option. But thats where the sports will go
