Have had a low coolant message a couple of times. Was surprised as car has recently had a service. I have seen from a search on this forum that sometimes a faulty sensor can be responsible so I am watching this. I checked when cold and level looked ok but it did seem difficult to get a good view. Can't see any obvious leaks either. Temp guage has not gone up more than usual.
However 2 questions:
Does it matter whether you put pink or blue anti-freeze in? Is there a difference (apart from colour obviously)?
What mix of anti-freeze/water is correct? The book says 50/50 but someone at dealers said to just put anti-freeze in neat. Is this correct advice?

go for pink (I always do ) the LR stuff is O.A.T. and gives protection to -40 at 50% dilution
the O.A.T. stuff won't rot your gaskets or aluminium bits, don't mix it with the cheaper pure glycol (blue) stuff

It's probably the expansion tank. I changed mine under warranty and since then every thing is OK. Don't add coolant if the level is ok, over filling will not clear the (low coolant) message, and it may cause another problems. Mine has just done the same. Sensor in the coolant bottle failed, being replaced under warranty.
Apparently it is due to porosity of the float! “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
