Front Bumper - Under Bolts Stuck! - Suggestions?

Hi - Trying to remove my front bumper - the fastenings underneath are rusty and seem stuck. They seem to be about a 4mm hex - but due to the rust, difficult to be sure and my 4mm key is slipping.

Any suggestions for a) exactly what size key I should be using and/or b) ways to get them out!

Thanks

I used a torx bit in a battery De-Walt drill and they came out eventually (all but one which sheared off)

I lost most of mine when removing my bumper a few months ago, they were well soaked in WD40 too,but as they starting unwinding i think 3 out of 5 sheared off Whistle If you have a sump guard this will hold it in place and i'll drill and re tap, probably next year now Thumbs Up

Thanks guys. I've already squirted them!

Any idea what size Torx? I'd already tried that - a T25 is too small and a T30 seems too big.

Are they meant to be hex or torx? So rusted, I can't really tell!

stuck bolts

Hi
Try a little bit heat then tighten a bit then loosen do this until the threads are clean, best idea to do this would be a battery drill or electric screwdriver or an air tool and they will then come out easily
cheers

I found that using the De Walt battery drill which is pretty powerful on max torque setting, the best way to move them was to set the direction to 'tighten', give a quick blast, then reverse to undo, worked for me.

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions and advice - more WD40, inserting a Torx T30 with gentle taps from a hammer and using an 18v Makita screwdriver / drill, set to drill, I managed to get 3 out of 4 out, before it got dark and supper, kids, etc took over.

So, one to go. It will have to wait until next weekend; everything back together again for now, but still with the old bumper still on!
