Proposal: Colour Gallery ** Good sample photos required **
Colour is obviously a fairly major consideration for many when choosing a new Disco.
The LR website is pretty rubbish for viewing colours and only shows current model colours. The brochure is just as bad, if not worse. The little samples the dealers have are also fairly useless and they rarely have actual cars in more than a few colours on display.
I was therefore thinking about trying to set up a gallery in My Gallery with a decent photo or two of Discos in as many colours as I could find, to make a central reference point for anyone who would like to compare real photos of real cars. Both current and no longer available.
Then I thought, it would probably make more sense if it was a 'site' feature, rather than hidden away in a user gallery.
Maybe a main folder with a single photo of each colour, with a sub-folder that users could then add their own photos to, or submit somewhere for adding by mods etc? Perhaps even part of the Wiki?
Not sure if this would work or exactly how it could be best achieved, but it would be a really useful resource!
EDIT: Sample gallery started! If you have a particularly good photo of a Disco, showing off its colour well - ideally 3/4 on from the front (to keep some uniformity), that you'd be happy for me to use - please let me know!D4 XS MY12 Galway

There is a field in the gallery for colour, which can be filled in upon upload (or added later), and then searched for.
However, most people don't fill it in 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Thanks. Nice photo! Although, TBH not sure it shows off the colour as well as it might... but until there's a photo which does - it's a great start. It's in!D4 XS MY12 Galway
Surely many photos in differing lighting etc will give a much truer indication of what a potential buyer is going to ave to live with - if you want to experience it in perfect light etc then you might need to leave it in the showroom after you've bought it??
for example, silver D3's don't show bramble rash nearly as much as black ........]
Real life pics would be more valuable IMHO???

I agree. I think the ideal would be a gallery with a photo of each colour, which if you then click through, takes you to a sub-gallery for each colour with lots of photos - but I don't know how or if that can be done.D4 XS MY12 Galway

I'll take a look and see if I can work out a way to do what you're suggesting with the software as it stands.

Cheers Martin!
I'd be very happy to hand this very to the forum generally - or, if there isn't a better solution, to continue to co-ordinate it.D4 XS MY12 Galway
