Hi,
First question, my car has now done 12.5K Miles since I have owned it (5 months & was serviced just before I got it), and still no service indicator, just getting slightly nervous as I have always thought a car should have an oil change at 10K miles, is this normal?
Second question, anyone have an idea of how much the oil costs in a typical service, I can buy the oil on my fuel card, and supply when it goes in, the question is, which oil do I buy? Is there an easy brand/type to buy in the garage that is exaclty the oil the dealers would use?
Thanks again in advance.
Alastair

the D4 service schedule is every 16k miles or 12 months - no oil changes needed in between.

not wishing to appear rude, but how is it that you're driving a 43k plus vehicle without knowing a) when the service is due and b) where the instruction maunal are and how to read them

Character,
Not wishing to appear rude but........I dont know where you get 43K miles from, like I said I have done 12.5K miles, I have specifically read the service booklet, the car instruction manual, and rung the dealer I bought it from who gave me a "oh dont worry it will just come one at some point" answer. I was after re-assurance and facts over when the service is due. Not some pithy comments on my ability to find a manual or how to read them. I thought this forum was about helping people.

Hi Alastair, we do try to help people here - I think Character is suffering from 'white line fever' He was referring to the price not the miles (he's done too many)
I think you will find this thread useful for oil information > http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic46217.html
As said, its 16k or 1 year, and the car will remind you when it gets near. I find it annoying on my '3' that I can't look up the miles/days remaining like I can with the Boxster and the Mini before hand.

Sorry.
Welcome to the forum Alistair and also to the joys of "The facts that some dealers are idiots:-("
Hope you found the info you were after? The blitheness with which some dealers treat serious questions is occasionally erm... breathtaking.
How are you enjoying the car other than that ? My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription
MY15 Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian
RGK Tiga Fx Wheelchair,
Large Alsation called Abbs
Medium blue Staffie called Piglet
Medium Alsation called Bailey
