Central locking puzzle Stealers baffled |
|
So here's the conundrum. I have no central locking and the passenger door lock rotates with no effect. Land rover came out (thru aa) powered up the electrics and got me going. This was a few weeks ago.
Replaced the battery in the key fob - done thanks to advice on this site.
No effect - central locking stil not working.
Ordered a new fob. ( thought old was bust) and programmed. CL still not working.
Had the headlining sensor replaced. CL still not working.
Back to stealers to have the wire from sensor replaced...however.
The bright technician put the key in the now bust passenger door lock turned it 360 degrees tested the CL - now working.
Ther repeat the process and the CL stops working. Repeats and it works.
Thet assure me there are no electronics connected to this lock and are baffled!
Any clues...?
TIA
Simp
P.s. The quoted me 450 for a lockset for the so I can fix the passenger door lock - is this right?

Finally located the problem to faulty battery connector in they key fob!
Turning it upside down or shaking it made the connection and the central looking works!
New battery ordered as well as soldering kit

Good result.
However, I don't understand why the new fob didn't work.
