Lumpy Idle and Smokey Exhaust on cold start

The D3 has been parked on the drive for the past 3 days not used

Came to start it this morning as normal, but the engine was extremely lumpy with revs fluctuating up and down say 200rpm around normal idle. I looked in the wing mirror and also noticed blue smoke from the exhausts. The idle was that lumpy it could be felt through the whole car rocking

I got a "bong" but no error message on the dash

Pulled off and car was sluggish for a while and still had a lumpy idle when stopping at a junction. Once the car had warmed up, it seemed back to normal

I got home and connected my faultmate. It's logged error codes P02A6 and P029F. Both seem to relate to injectors

Anyone had similar or know what could be wrong?

Thanks

Ade

May not be anything to do with this but have you checked that all your glow plugs are working?

Check your spill off pipes have not come loose or split, then drain the fuel filter and see if any water in there. can't see it being an injector goosed as it would still run lumpy.

Thinking possible glow plug fault too , mine did this last year and only 3 out of 6 were working.

Its going in on Tuesday to have the front diff replaced, so they are going to keep it for a few days to run tests on the fueling/cold starts

I've seen a few posts recently about winter grade diesel causing rough running and lumpy idle, possible??

I've got 3 glow plugs down and mine does exactly this when cold. Still got to sort them, but will be using the timed fbh in the morning until it's sorted!
