Heater vents !!!!
Hi .... i don't seem to be able to get any air from the heater system through the face level vents.
I have made sure that they are open and pressed the correct button to direct the air but nothing.
I can hear air been forced by the fan but it does not come out of the vents.
The plastic facia either side of the centre console ( ie radio and heater controls) seems to be getting very hot , i wondered if perhaps the pipe work directing the air thought to the face level vents may have become disconnected.
Has anyone else had the same problem !!!!!!
Thanks for listening

Not heard of that problem, but if you want to you can easily remove the centre console surround by pulling from the bottom.

Interesting as I have the opposite problem, the air to the footwells doesn't seem to be getting through, if the manual switch for face level is pressed I get a steady stream of warm air but if I select the footwell position, there is virtually nothing. I know my dealer had a lot of the dash out to fit the driving lights so I may drop it in for them to check it.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I have never noticed any air flow from face level vents. not had any software updates. Cabin warms up nicely and cools nicely as required.
If you want warm feet and fresh air to the face, I think it might be a problem! - unless you get the cabriolet!

The car was registered april '06 and was a demonstrater till i bought it 1 month ago so not sure what enhancements have been updated.
I thought that this would be a physical problem ..... but hey i'm no expert
I'll run it into the main agents this week and see what they say !
Got a couple of other usual but minor problems too that need sorting

I am relatively new to all this - but take nothing for granted, the software on the D3 seems to be the main issue and as such a physical problem might be less likely than the software controlling vents, or not.

I have the exact same thing on my Aug '06 D3, air on the windscreen or face can be selected ok, but can get almost no air into the footwells. Maybe it's time for another dealer visit 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

Wouldn't an April 06 or August 06 car already have these updates applied from the factory? 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

Had the same fault the dealer failed to sort the problem even with the latest software patches I took the bull by the horns and detached the side vent housings and guess what I found The internal gear that opens and closes the vent hand been incorrectly fitted It wasnt an easy job to set them up correctly but hey presto thirty minutes later all four vents were working fine. Its worth a look, so be brave, just pull the facia of and have a peak D4 3.0 HSE cameras,Hybrid TV, 20" alloys, heated wheel, privacy, Tow pack.
Departed RRS TDV8 HSE Full Arden kit in TEAL and colour coded everything.
Departed Disco 3 2.7 HSE

Heater vents
I too have this problem in getting any air from the footwell vents. Did anyone establish whether the cause of the problem was related to the switching.*Disco3 7-seat Auto
