Hi,
Does anyone else know what improvements have been made to the MY07 D3 HSE?
I have info on achieving EuIV emissions (below) and the TV option for the Sat Nav, but little else. Anyone out there have an MY07 spec & know?
"A key technical change at 2007 Model Year is the achievement of EU4 emissions compliance on TDV6 diesel."
This has been accompanied by an improvement in fuel consumption and a reduction in C02 emissions of 5g/km, to 244g/km on the manual and 270g/km on the automatic.
The new data is summarised in the tables below. (sorry, looks a bit messy in this post.)
2006 Model Year TDV6 TDV6 V8
EU - Urban ltr/100 km (mpg) 11.5 (24.5) man 13.2 (21.4) auto 20.9 (13.5)
EU - Extra-Urban ltr/100 km (mpg) 8.2 (34.5) man 8.7 (32.3) auto 11.6 (24.3)
EU - Combined ltr/100 km (mpg) 9.4 (30.0) man 10.4 (27.2) auto 15.0 (18.8)
C02 - Combined g/km 249 275 354
2007 Model Year TDV6 TDV6 V8
EU - Urban ltr/100 km (mpg) 11.1 (25.4) man 13.1 (21.6) auto 20.9 (13.5)
EU - Extra-Urban ltr/100 km (mpg) 8.1 (34.9) man 8.5 (33.2) auto 12.1 (22.3)
EU - Combined ltr/100 km (mpg) 9.2 (30.7) man 10.2 (27.7) auto 15.0 (18.8)
C02 - Combined g/km 244 270 354

I have a 2007 HSE and had a 2006 before. This one is much better on fuel by about 5mpg. The dials are different as are the silver bits inside. I have the TV which is good, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is ok, just sits there and does nothing.
The engine is quieter at higher revs.
The 07 also has a clock on the dash, one touch indicators, less annoying chimes and one touch operation for the fronts windows. There is also power lumber adjust.

That is certainly an improvement (presuming the new clock is readable). Sadly, I don't think I can afford to swap to the new model just for the clock

That's interesting. Are those figures from the display or have you manually calculated them?
I tend to average out around c.27mpg on the display. When calculated manually though it's nearer to 26mpg. My display is about 0.9mpg over.

I did it manually, I don't take too much notice of the display.

Even more interesting. Anyone know why this would be Are there some changes that I haven't read about That's a massive improvement in mpg
Also, you'd expect a new engine to do less mpg. My TDV6 has noticeably "loosened up" after it passed 10k miles & mpg improved slightly.

Can only guess it's to do with the ECU modifications to meet EuIV emmissions for the MY07

Is there any word as to whether it will be possible to apply these modifications to earlier models?

2007 Spec Hybrid TV - Rear park Camera? |
|
Just up for a bit of info from you guys. I have just ordered a disco 3 (so it will be 2007) and am delighted to see the clock in the dash on Oliver77's pics. Hooray - one of the small anoying things we noticed when testing the car. However one of the ovbious omisions when comparing this with Q7, Merc GL etc was the lack of a rear park camera. Presumably this was because there wasn't a composite video input for the dash display screen befoe. Question is, if I spec the HSE I have ordered with the Hybrid tv, does anyone know if it can either a) be spec'ed with a rear park system like the range rover or 2) is their a composite video connection 'somewhere' under the dash that an aftermarket camera system can connect to? It is not too late to change the spec as we won't get it until December. The rear window seems a long way back after an A-class! Thanks all!
