front hubs

I noticed the other day when i changed my front brake pads there was a bit of play on the front hub.Ive borrowed a torque wrench and was going to try and nip it up.Could anyone tell me is there a locking tab on the hub nut

the hub nut has an in built 'locking tab' all the way around. Depending on how hard its been hit in, you should be able to tap it out with a chisel/screwdriver or just tighten a fraction and then re-tap it down.

Chris, the 'hub' nut only secures the driveshaft in position, I think if you have play here, then the wheel bearing must be a bit worn, easily replaced though fortunately ( unlike the rear ones).
