Hi
I would like to update my regular lights on the disco3 to xenon
My wife has found some on eBay and I am unsure if they can be easily fitted to my car?
They are the adaptive type xenons but my lights are regular.
Thanks
Adrian

They will work, but you may need to plug them into a car that already has adaptives in order to get them to be level.
Other than that, you need to get the Xenons enabled to stop the startup flicker. Plenty of people (Wiggs, Geoff & some others) on here can enable them. Bodsys Brake Bible

Switching the halogen units for the normal (non-adaptive) Xenon ones is a straight plug-and-play job - done it myself. I don't think that you can switch for the adaptive ones though...
I should add that, although others have needed them 'enabled' to stop the flicker, mine didn't need that. 2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)

I fitted some on my 55 plate S model and no flicker so did not need to do anything.
Just fit either way they will work. 'Just because you're breathing doesn't mean you're alive'

I have just bought a used 2005 (05) D3, and am new to LR and the Discovery. My D3 was sold to me as 'S' spec, but I actually believe it is the base 7-seater model as there is no sat nav and no Xenon headlights fitted etc, and no S' badge either, although a LR main dealer told me that not all 'S" spec vehicles were badged (?). Anyway, one of the halogen dipped beam headlight bulbs has just blown: have I really understood this thread correctly, can you really just replace the halogen bulbs for Xenon bulbs? What about ballast etc.? Have I misunderstood something here? - I thought some kind of conversion kit was needed to fit Xenon bulbs into a D3 with halogen headlight bulbs...
Thanks
Ian

they are talking about changing the whole headlight unit it will also have the ballast with it, the light units are same size/shape/fitting so just swap out Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

You can do the swop without doing anything - but chances are they will flicker for a few seconds on start-up. (The halogens are soft-started to make em last longer )
Wiggs enabled mine about a year ago and also did the corner lights as I had the adaptives - The up/down movement seems fairly stiff, but the left/right is relatively loose. I have had them checked to alignment after I first had them enabled and they were fine - and have been through the MOT this year no problems (With lights ) too.
When you switch them to/from Europe they will tend to move left/right as the lever is quite deep in the unit. I just move them back to center and they are fine - I've never been flashed - and as I say when checked they were bob on Mark.
