Have a problem with this 55 reg tdv6. Car was driving normal and then parked up for about 15 mins.
When returned to the car it started as normal but the abs warning light was on, the brake pedal was hard and the brakes were stuck on.
Managed to drive it away albeit very slowly and then the brakes suddenly freed off and the warning lights went out.
But then went to press the pedal and it went nearly to the floor and only braking very slightly.
Now if you press the pedal quickly it doesn't feel too bad and it brakes okay but if you rest your foot on the pedal and gently press it will go all the way to the floor.
Was thinking master cylinder problem but local landrover dealer say's they have never sold one.
Any help appreciated

Mines an 05, never had any prob but it did have a new servo on when it went in for something else apparently it's a recall done foc, something to do with oil getting into servo, ask dealer to check if it's been done

two things:
1) Has the vehicle ever had the LR safety recall for the brake servo (check with yer nearest LR dealer), if not then its free
2) Brake vacum, well its called the brake exauster actually as it runs off the engine, turn the OSF wheel full lock towards the opposite side kerb, lie down with a torch, shine up towards the top rear of the plastic inner arch cover, then shine into the gap to see up towards the rear of the engine and look for oil residue. See the thread below for better pics.

Yes it had the safety recall for the brake servo about a year ago. I did pull the servo pipe off and checked it for oil aswell.
