Welding on a D3 - Precautions?

When welding on a D3 do you need to take any precautions other than disconnecting the battery?

Don't want to fry any delicate electronics with the MIG!!

Putting on some 32" BFG's so might have to trim back the 'chassis protrusion' in the front wheel arch.
