What "shoes" would Imelda Marcos have? |
|
While my car is still going through PDI, I might be able to negotiate a different set of tyres to those that come as standard.
My car is coming with the 19" alloys (L319, Style C) with Pirelli 255/55 R19 A/T tyres. Are these the most suitable for the car that will do quire regular driving about the farm / rough roads, but also zoom along the motorways?
Looking at Camskill, there are a few options:
- PIRELLI SCORPION ATR (probably what the car comes with?)
- GOODYEAR WRANGLER HP ALL WEATHER (Runflat)
- GENERAL GRABBER AT
- GOODYEAR WRANGLER MTR (look a bit OTT!)
I quite like the idea of the General Grabber AT2, but these don't appear to be available for my wheel size.
So, anyone with 19" wheels and do a bit of field / farm work, what do you suggest?
Thanks, Sam 2016MY Landmark + RSE

I run MTR's all the time. Motorways and scout campsites in the middle of nowhere.
Look a bit more aggresive (and are) but not so bad, with great tyre wear around 40,000miles from a set. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks, Bodsy.
What about road noise? And how about winter? Tempted to get winter tyres, but if there are some that tick all the boxes, then I'm happy!

I would not think the MT/R would be a tyre to suite your needs but each to there own.
General AT or Pirelli ATR would be my choice as an all rounder.
