Help I have a wet lap!!!!!
I got into my beloved Disco this morning and as I braked at the top of my road I got a lap full of water! The water appeared to be running from the sunvisor mounting - however the roof lining appears dry to the touch. I also noticed that water which I thought was on the outside of the windscreen was actually on the inside.
I pulled in at the local Shell garage and opened the sun roof to check the channels inside and found little evidence of water (I guess it was all in my lap!). I used the air line at the garage to blow out any debris that may have been obstructing drainage (nothing substantial found)
Has anyone else had a similar experience - is there an issue with drainage from the sun roof?

You need to see your dealer, there are Technical Bulletins available to help identify this. Could be a blocked or trapped drain tube.

Hi, just got mine back from dealer, something to do with grommet`s in roof. Its stopped water comming in through roof
linning and air bags but there is still water trapped up there
you can hear every time I go around a corner which would
dry out sometime ? I hope before roof rotts.

I would have thought that that required the headlining down, even if just to check the airbags. If there is still water up there, it needs sorted. If the bod on the service desk does not know what he is doing, go up the food chain!

The air bags are contained within a foam casing so asked them to put there life on it as i would have to. head linning ok
some water marks dealer sorted, just the water around roof but
it does seem quieter today, may be its because parked different way on slopping drive.

Mine is sorted but seemed a bit too quick to dry out the water that was soaked into the carpet. I'll be taking a good look at it & the headlining to see if any damp or watermarks. Will also be "watching" for any smells of damp in next few weeks.

The mark one "schnozz", or try and find a damp meter to zap the head lining. Remember that we do not like in the weather paradise that is Aus, here it es down & our houses leak like seives.

Good luck, this is the longest mine has been at the stealer since I got it at the end of April, it has had a few problems but nothing much. It is now out in the rain to test the fix so will see what all this good Welsh rain will do (same rain that passed your way few hours ago!!!)

Help I have a wet lap!!!!!
All
Thanks for the prompt and entertaining responses - have taken your advice on board and have the drianage tubes etc checked at next service which just happens to be on 6th November.
In the meantine I have cleaned out the channels etc surrounding the sunroof and despite driving in some rain (although not the sort of downpours that preceded my wet event) I have had no further reoccurance (indeed the channels have remained clear of any build up water).
