3 possibly stupid questions
Ok,been on here long enough and owned the D3 long enough to know but have to ask.
Does the plastic engine cover just pull off
No 2.when i attach a trailer and use the indicators the little trailer light on the dash is intermittant,i assume this is a relay fault but where is the relay located?
No 3,how do you add colour to the font in the Signature?

Yes, just take oil filler off first and not sure - in that order. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

No.2 that is dodge then ........ if LR towing electrics fitted then inside N/S stowage space behind removable panel in the boot

re number 2, it might mean that the indicator on the trailer is only working intermittently rather than there being a fault in the LR electrics. Test with the trailer and see if the trailer indicator is flashing without the dash indicator being lit first. Maybe a fault in the trailer wiring.

Thought so but i removed the relay that was there but it done the same,would it do that without a relay?

checked that and all seems ok,i am only using the black connector and indicators/side and brake lights all work ok without missing a blink,even tried it on freelander and all ok.

Can do that but cant seem to change the sig colour below

Just a thought on No.2. Is the fault all the time or only when you're driving? If it's the latter, it would suggest a poor connection - probably the trailer bulb in its holder. If it's all the time, sorry, can't help.

No2, I had the problem with intermittent light on dash, i found it was a faulty connection in the actual trailer board plug' water had got in and broke down the connection, i stripped it down and all ok,
In regards to no1 remove the filler cap, and gently tug the cover, just be careful as the rubber holders in the cover may get stuck on the engine and may want refitting prior to reinstalling the coverIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Check your trailer plug pins/wiring are clean. New plugs are less than a fiver. About to replace the nice new one I fitted on the tin tent after dragging it along the M62 last week.
