Suspension has developed "character" |
|
My drive is on a slight incline and therefore doesn't seem to trigger the latest event, but I have noticed while parking on level ground that the suspension gives what I can only describe as a resigned, sad little sigh and settles about an inch lower.....anybody got any anecdotal evidence if this is the dreaded compressor failure giving me advanced warning,or just an endearing individual trait ? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

They all do that.... And more so on level ground, i find it more frequent after driving some distance rather than local journeys......like bodsy states... Just leveling itself If it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Cheers boys....I'm sure it never did it before, but if it's normal then I'm happy with that...... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Mine has always done it, but since the new compressor it now hisses and farts like something not right. Great in supermarket carparks, scares the hell out of people. D3 V8 SE AUTO

As a chap with a somewhat larger than average girth, I find that the car needs to do significantly more self levelling when I get out than when other more sylph like family use my car
Have you been raiding the Ginsters cabinet recently ?
Perfectly normal car behaviour, and you can increase the effect by heavy braking to come to a stop. Your inclined drive may mean you just park slower, meaning the car has had time to level itself before you park, requiring less levelling afterwards. Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?
