service plans
As a newby to the Disco Ive been offered a service plan to cover up to 105000 miles on my 2008 Disco the cost is £1679 payable over 32 months ( no interest as its up front) basically for four years from now as the dealer is picking up the first service when due in November. Whats the catch if any and can I do this elsewhere at a reduced cost and still maintain my warranty

Will you keep the car for the full term.... Will the service plan stay with the car if you sell, it would make the car saleable but you wouldn't see a return.... Plus it also means your stuck with the dealer
Only my opinion though... Others might see it differentlyIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

If it goes up to 105k, does it therefore cover the big 105k service? Does it cover every service cost, or will you be always getting presented bills for parts/lubricants/worn out bits replaced, etc.
What's the mileage on the car now? How many services, in essence, is this likely to cover? What's the average cost of those services? Would you perhaps get the car services at an independant where it'd be cheaper after a year or two?
Quite a few variables here that would affect the decision whether to go for it. As with any "insurance" the cost of it, on average is likely to be more than the cost of the servicing, else how would they make money? (Unless it's a loss leader, to persuade you to buy the car - unlikely I'd say.) But there's also the peace of mind issue. If the washing machine blows up at the same time as the car needs it's service, you know the car's service isn't a worry.
You pays your money and takes your choice.

Thanks folks its an 08 plate with 50000 on the clock dealer will do first service for free the 4 year or 60000 mile one Ive then got about 8 months dealer warranty left. Ive had a wee look at independants and they are half the cost so I may go down that road and use the money saved to add another year Landrover warranty
