Forum loading time

Hi,

I am sorry to worry you about this but I have a loading time which is too long and this makes my navigator stop before loading the page. I first used ie. I have now changed to chrome with a better result but quiet often when i try to open pages of the site I have this message: "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.disco3.co.uk" I have to reload the page (sometimes for several minutes) before I get the page. At the end, I never have broken links, the page exists but it just do not load.
This has caused that in the past (before I change to chrome) I did come less often as it was a waist of time and I loose patience. It is a shame as the site is really excellent! There is tons of information, it is quiet well structured...

I only experience this problem with this site (this is why I exclude provider or computer problems)

Also, I must say that I am connecting from Monaco (in case server has an ip detection or something similar)

Finally, I though it might be a busy server (sometimes it loads faster and without problems) but as this has become a "normal" situation I preferred to share this with you. Also, I do not think that end of July should be the busiest period of the year for the server...

Does somebody else have this problem too? Is there anything I do wrong or can I change something to have this sorted?

Thank you for reading me!

Marc

Hi Marc,

Thanks for the report. Site loading times is not something that is generally a problem, there have been a series of upgrades over the years to keep up the site traffic to ensure the site is reliable and fast Smile

I'll take a look at this, and drop you an email if I need any more information Smile

Any issues with the site let me know!

@choppa
thank you for your feedback. Have a nice holidays in St Raphael which is a lovely area! It would be great to use the disco to off-road the Esterel but it is unfortunately forbidden Big Cry

@Martin
Thank your for your interest and investigation.
After a small test yesterday evening, I scare that the problem comes from my computer... I tried to visit the site through my mobile (connected by wifi) and it worked well. Knowing that a telephone will never be performer as a computer, this has give me a doubt.
I am going to Barcelona on Friday so I will available to test another provider and something completely different.
Honestly, I do not understand as my computer is an Acer quiet new (march 2010) turning under win7 and is not overcharged with games or tons of programs.
So, I am also investigating on my side but it is true that I have noticed that the evening or week-ends I have less problems. I also have had a doubt if the problem was not my provider (monaco telecom)...
I will try to use my wife's computer to test but I can never use it as long as I want Censored and this is usually during the evening (where I have less problems)

I will keep you informed but if you have any tips to sort this, they are very welcome!!!

Hi,

I have made a small test during lunch time with my wife's computer. I did not had any problem so I start thinking that the problem comes from my laptop.

If somebody can help me because I have factory settings (I have never touched it) and I do not understand why I have problems.

Thank you for your help!!
