Electrical Vacuum Pump
A mate has just got a MY07 (built Dec 06) D3 and it has an electrical vacuum pump in front of the main battery box.
Anyone else come accross this before?

I assumed it was the TDV6.
Never looked looked under the bonnet of a petrol one before.
I'll check that it is so.
If it is a TDV6 I will post pics.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Looks like it is a petrol then. All covered in mud though.
I thought the petrol ones used the induction vacuum for the brake booster?
I wonder why the diesel have a mechanical rather than electric pump. I believe they cannot use the induction as it is too low at idle.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It's all starting to make sense now. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
