I have a 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S which has developed a problem with the tailgate latch. When driving the upper section of the tailgate will unlock itself causing the interior light to come on and the information panel to display "Tailgate is Open".
I replaced the latch which is housed in the lower section but the problem is still there (infact it has gotten worse). When the tailgate is open you can constantly hear the locking mechanism operate approx every ten seconds.
The only way around this is by locking the tailgate and keeping it locked.
Could the problem be with the electronic tailgate release button??
Appreciate any comments from those who know or have encountered similar problems
