Headlmap aim adjustment

After retro-fitting Xenons to my new motor, the aim seems a little askew. There are 2 screw adjusters on the back of the unit, one does the height but I can't see what the other one does. Any ideas folks?

Also, should the 'flat' section of the beam pattern be the same height for left and right and any idea how high it should be? If someone has factory Xenons could they measure the beam height (i.e up against a wall or garage door etc) so I can set them up properly cause I don't want to pay a dealer to do it!

My left one is a tiny bit higher then the right. This could be the way it's meant to be (which I think so, as it illuminates the side of the road better without blinding oncoming cars), or could be a result of me getting a new left headlight unit as the old one got damaged in a small crash 2 weeks after I got the D3, so I never really got used to the original lights in it.

I'll do some measurements tomorrow sometime if someone else doesnt do them first!

BTW, is that a 'new' D1 I see in your signature - I guess you bought one during the week? Smile

Yep after last week I realised that I can't hammer the D3 like that regularly as it will end up a mess. I broke 2 mudflaps, scratched some paint and damaged the plastic sill trims (but god it was fun Smile ) So picked up a D1 V8 in great condition for £750 and will add various off-road mods to use as a plaything!

Not surprised you scratched it! Both my sidesteps are damaged! Wink One dented, the other with various minor scratches along it. Not that noticable though.

Anyway, just measured the lights.

At a distance of 6.7M from the wall, both beams cut off at approx 77cm on the wall. Normal suspension height used.

Hope this helps,
Brendan.

Could you please post a picture of the height adjustment screw? My xenons are too low although the dealer says they are OK...
