Fundamentally the following:
- 8 speed gearbox
- increase to 255bhp
- new rotary dial style gear selection (as in Range Rover)
- a couple of new colours
- slight tweaking of the specs
- supposedly no price increase

Do you know if the 8 speed gearbox is an option or if it is standard?
I ordered a 2012 (155kw) but the salesman told me there are no changes at all?
Perhaps he dont know or wont tell me?

I have the full details that the dealer sent me when ordering mine. The info display looks the same as whats in the new evoque.
He didn't say I couldn't pass it on so I'll put on here if I can find it in me emails.

If the 2012 car is better MPG, this might mean it is slightly better on the road in terms of CO2. On this page the first year VED is marked as being £845, so it is likely to be in the same 'L' banding as the 2011 car, as the current first year VED is £790.
The current car is down as being 244 g/km, so I really doubt that the new engine output and gearbox have managed to bring it down to under 225 g/km. So, with that in mind, the VED is likely to be £445 per year.

I have ordered a new XS for September delivery (2012 model year). Does anyone know what the improvements are to the standard audio system as against the current High Line system in the 2011 XS ? I won't be paying extra for the 850w system, much though I'd love to....
As regards CO2 emissions, my dealer told me that the figure for 2012 is 230g/km so it's not enough to bring it down a band, which is a shame. Apparently the lower powered (210 bhp) model will have emissions of 224g/km so it comes down a band. That may be only an option for the Commercial, I'm not sure.

Programme Overview
• Discovery 4 has delivered significant improvements in quality, craftsmanship and feature upgrades and a greater level of premiumness to compliment the vehicle’s versatile credentials.
• The focus of 11MY was on EU5 compliance and included cDPF standardisation and introduction of a new 210hp power variant of the 3.0 TDV6 engine for Discovery 4 Commercial. The 2.7 TDV6 together with 6 speed manual transmission were withdrawn.
• The 12MY changes and actions make up a medium scale step and introduce some significant improvements in key areas. Improvements include the introduction of an 8-speed automatic transmission which brings with it improvements in CO2 and fuel economy.
• CO2 performance is further enhanced with the introduction of low-flow fuel injectors on the 210hp 3.0 TDV6 Commercial bringing CO2 down to 224 g/km for that derivative. The power output of the 3.0 SDV6 is improved to 255hp.
• The entry level audio system is significantly improved and the high-line and premium level systems get improved output and feature content.
• Infotainment features are enhanced with the introduction of the Gen 2.1 MOST electrical architecture providing improvements to navigation, voice activation and rear-seat entertainment amongst other features.
• Discovery 4 continues to be positioned as the ultimate All-Purpose-Vehicle, highly advanced and supremely able for adventurous people who lead big lives

• The high power SDV6 3.0 engine benefits from a power output increase from 245hp to 255hp. The extra power improves the 0-60mph acceleration time by 0.3mph/second*.
• The CO2 figure for the SDV6 255hp engine with the 8-speed transmission is reduced from 244g/km to 230g/km*. Fuel economy is also improved.
• The lower power 3.0 TDV6 210hp engine has further economy improvements with the introduction of low-flow fuel injectors and achieves 224g/km CO2 emissions*.
If you want the details, PM me your emails and I will email you the PDF, can't upload it on here.

low-flow fuel injectors means you cant just pimp the map to improve power to 300 horses as you could the 255 bhp I suppose. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
