Am I right in saying the SDV6 is a remapped TDV6, and if I buy a TDV6 I can have it remapped to a SDV6??

Are you talking about the 210bhp 3l TDV6? If so yes you can get it mapped to 245bhp by Pete Bell but I believe the 2012 210bhp model has a different set of injectors which may make it difficult to do. Club Exped trailer

Thought all 3.0lt HSE's were the higher 245 BHP ? It was only lower spec models that may have the lower BHP? MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Who mentioned anything about HSE? The OP asked if a TDV6 can be tuned to the same as a SDV6 and I have presumed seeing as he posted it in the D4 section, that he was referring to the 210bhp model. Club Exped trailer

Yes agreed but not all TDV6's are 210, some are already 245 so a tune would make no diffrence other than to your bank account, all I was trying to do was point out that you need to check via the chassis number what engine is actually in each car. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

In LR's never ending quest to bamboozle its customers, the SDV6 rear badge came in to effect on MY11 builds. After this anything with TDV6 meant it was a 210bhp variant. The 245bhp variant can be remapped  and trust me you won't be wasting your money Club Exped trailer

Hi Ent, fully agree with you on the "won't be wasting your money" bit "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

As I understand it, the change from TD to SD is also about a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), but that is also about emissions and not performance. So the engine is likely to be exactly the same, but with a remap. 2016MY Landmark + RSE

Have you had yours remapped from to 245bhp to 300bhp as your list suggests,if so who did it ?,was it Pete at BAS & how much ?
I always wanted to get my D3 remapped by him,but never got round to it.
I'm so impressed with the SDV6 (245bhp) lump ,can only imagine what it would go like after remapping  Www.devonchilliman.co.uk

I think the increase on the 245bhp is to 285bhp and not 300bhp unless Pete has made a special map for Ent - no doubt Ent will be along soon to comment "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

I'm running the same map as you Im sure. It's not just the bhp increase it's the torque increase that I'm after. During the development of this map the torque limit in the gearbox was increased from 600nm to 800nm and it still went into limp mode with error codes along the lines of "torque outside set parameters". To say it picks it's feet up is an understatement, it's left many a red faced Rep red faced. Club Exped trailer

I would wait for the MY12 8 speed gearbox. Should be better at doing 800Nm as in the toerag incarnation. The MY12 "low-flow" injectors will put limits on any remap  . There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Yes I thought it was yours that Pete had played with and taken the nm to the max
