Unlock/Open tailgate from inside (D4)
Is it possible to unlock and open the tailgate from the drivers seat i.e. is there a hidden switch I haven't found in the car or manual ? I guess I could try the key fob but that's usually in the dark recesses of my trouser pocket so is marginally less convenient than jumping out.
Hoping to find a solution as it's embarrassing when the missus is waiting to load the car in the rain 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

Unlock button is on the drivers door card, by the handle!

In my previous D3 you could press the interior unlock and lock buttons at the same time and that would release the tailgate but you would still need to pull the tailgate at the same time as pressing the buttons - this option would not work in the D4 as you can not press both these buttons at the same time as it is a rocker switch so the answer is I dont think you can release the D4 tailgate from the inside.

Yes, it looks like you definitely can't do it on the D4 which is a bit of an oversight. I'm currently recovering from surgery so I guess I'll have to throw her the keys out of the sunroof 2010 MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech PRHT

I think he means if you press the unlock button on the door card then whoever wants to open the boot to put the shopping in can just pull the handle on the boot and it will open, works on mine anyway '16 Volvo XC90 R Design Bursting Blue (Vera)

If the engine is running, I think it needs to be in Park as well. That seems to work on mine.
