Servicing

I have had my D3 SE for a couple of months now, it's a march 06. I bought it with 7500m on the clock. When does it go in for servicing/checks etc? I read on the forum that an upgrade to the management system increases mpg, etc, do I phone to book this in?
They might even fix that annoying wiper judder.......

Service every 15k miles, or every 12 months - whichever comes sooner.

The enhancement programme has been running some time; you should book it in to be done.

The windscreen wiper may be the result of a damaged wiper blade, or the arm may need a gently twist. Search the forum for guidance on this.

You should check with your dealer, as they may have already done the enhancement. Some say it improves MPG, but I am not sure. It does improve low end torque, which makes the engine pull stronger at lower revs. It also increases the engine noise a very slight amount, but the trade off is worth it IMO.

Normal 1st service is 15k miles or 1 year.

Wiper judder is covered in a post on here, and unless your blades are knackered, the fix is to gently twist the arm clockwise as you look down the wiper, using a couple of pairs of grips with a bit of cloth in to protect the wiper arm. A gentle twist will help the angle of the blade against the glass at the top of the wipe which is where the judder usually occurs.

Worth a trying the dealer for new blades. I complained about mine and they fitted new ones that were a world better than the old ones. The technician said that the old ones (with no part number) were the wrong ones fitted at manufacture. The new ones have a part number (but I can't see it) and only squawk a little, nothing compare with the old ones.

He can only say no.

Both mine were replaced, along with the wiper arms. Completely silent now.
