7 seats boot rattle

It started a while ago, I thought it was one of the 2nd row seats, a rattle when passing over bumps. I also found a small rubber piece on the floor of my 7 seats D3 but it was only when I found the second one that I started to wonder where it's from:

By pressing the folded 3rd row seats here I found out the rattle was produced by them:

So I inspected them and found out that the rubber piece that stopped the metal parts from touching got torn from here:

I made 4 of them out of a rubber mat and replaced them all (they were all almost broken):

The noise is gone!

Now if someone could tell me how to remove the noise coming from the pillar that is close to my ear... It's a soft hiss from the safety belt area that's driving me mad...

My seats are quiet, but I too have this rattle from the B Pillar. I have not tried to fix it yet, but if I give it a good thump it goes away for a few miles. I suspect it will be a loose part in the seat belt height adjuster. Pulling the door seal off, and removing the trim should reveal all.

Gareth ...you might find that the rattle in the B pillar is the seatbelt mechanism. I had a similar noise and when slimer and I "operated" we found that a plastic retainer for the height adjuster was dislodged meaning that the metal strap retainer was moving up and down freeley causing a rattle. An easy fix Wink

adara...thanks for the tip I will checkout if that is the cause of my rear clatter Very Happy

Dickgriff, is it easy to remove the trim? Doesn't any part get broke or something? Thank you!

Yes its fairly straight forward, just take it steady. The top section of plastic just eases out as I recall, You might have to peel back the door seal a bit ....I'm going out shortly so I'll refresh my memory Wink
