I wanted to fit the detachable towbar and have been told this is straightforward. My question related to the electrics for a light board etc. I would only be using it for a pedal bike rack or a small motorbike trailer. I dont want to tow caravans (13 pin?) or anything so does the car come with the facility to plug in a light board for example or does the wiring need to be installed as well as the towbar itself?
Might sound stupid but I've never towed before, well not willingly anyways.
Cheers

Need the towing electrics too. LR kit, simple self-install. Order from The Large One (parts Manager at Yeovil, on here) or you can often get on eBay. Avoid third party wiring.

Storm2 - I may have a new original single electrics kit for the Disco3, but won't know until I get home on Monday evening- I will need to look for it so let me know if you don't get fixed up. Where are you situated?

Have you any electrics fitted, behind the plastic flap as you haven't said if you do or not ,I tow boats and plug in the lightboard in my electrics , black socket ,
So if you've none you will need some , mind you I towed a bike rack all the way to france without using a lightboard , because the d3 lights are so high , but for peace of mind I got a lightboard , for the boat trailer for local sailing club . 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .

The electrics are easy to fit. I bought a set off eBay this week for £105. You can get single 7 pin black leads for about £85. The genuine Land Rover sets are easy as they are just plug and play. All you need to fit them are a philips screw driver and a 10mm socket and some patients.
Good luck with the install

That's gonna cost you best part of £280.
£105 + postage for electrics and £150 - £165 + postage to towbsr if you go through eBay.
Check out the for sale forums on here. You might be able to save £30 or so.
Happy hunting !!
