Warranty Query
My Disco was first registered on 27th June 2008, with a standard 3 year warranty. The vehicle has a full main dealer service history. On Monday, 4th July (3 years and 1 week after first registration) the warning came up on the dashboard saying "Engine System Fault". It has been with the dealer since then, and they have confirmed, following consultation with Land Rover head office, that a new turbo unit will have to be fitted.
My query is whether anybody has been successful in getting the warranty extended in similar circumstances. The main dealer is trying to get this done for me at the moment, but I would welcome any comments to hopefully reassure me of the likelihood of their chances.

I'd think they do it has a goodwill and to keep a customer. A week isn't long nor should it make a difference. 17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

If you are the original owner and the service history is good then i can see no reason why there wont be some kind of goodwill contribution....keep your fingers and toes crossed.

They have that they have a discretion of up to 25%, but are trying to get this increased by Land Rover UK, which is good news, as the cost of the repair has been indicated as £16K!!!!!
