Whatever next.
Surely though, the size of an a pillar blindspot depends on how close you sit to it, ie sit very close and you wont see a thing, but sit further back and the blindspot will be reduced. It therefore depends on your size and how you sit in your car.
What a load of rubbish. I think these people have too much time on their hands. Do you think they just sit there all day dreaming up which piece of an 'evil 4x4' to scrutinise next.

Not so sure this is cr*p
As has been rightly said, a careful driver will be more aware of his surroundings.
However, we have proof, even within our midst, that large 4x4's can induce blindness in drivers due to the way they are constructed.......

Not all scare-mongering is based on fantasy.
Mind-you....... perhaps there was a bit too much Roo meat and xxxx involved with that one?

JMC, not saying that our A pillars are small but just the way that 4x4's are being singled out yet again. I think the 2 worst cars I have had for blind spots are a Merc A class and a Citroen Picasso
The picasso was the worst and that is meant to be the country's best selling MPV (only because it is cheep)
The VW Touran is also rumoured to be pretty bad.
Even in the worst cars though if you drive sensibly it should not be a problem.
Can't say I have ever thought the D3 was bad as far as the pillars are concerned and the extra visability that we have from the high position is a bonus that even the best 'A pillar performing car' would never have.
VA, I was talking about tyres causing the rubber shortage not those things in shiny packets that you keep in your bedside drawer Zermatt silver 06 reg.

We had the same article, but it was about all modern cars having larger A pillars due to crash test safety requirements. Some cars were worse than 4x4s because the driver was much closer to the A pillar.
A very biased article, it's like the reversing vision one, here the commadore family car had the worst rear visability! “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
