has anyone removed the complete door mirror assembly from a d3?,i guess looking at it you start behind the small triangular speaker but how does this come off?.

thanks geoff
i had a feeling it wont be easy its ref a friend with a d4(forum member but not good with computers)i said i would put a thread out for him, yesterday a white van man wanted his side of the road and took the whole mirror body clean off then the b d cleared off,the only good thing is it has not done any damage to the door.he has an indy down the road from him(rcv)i think he is going to get a quote from them, lets just hope there is some stock around.
cheers
sandy
ps
a mirror seems insignificant compared to your rebuild. s/steel side tubes, door trims with bright inlay, front and rear light guards, half chrome mirror caps, mud flaps, chrome finishers on boot and rear bumper step, chrome finishers round gear shift and cup holders, chrome door handle covers.d/4 grille conversion, chrome foglamp bezzells, parrot bluetooth.***sadly missed**********

You've probably managed it by now but there is a link on here somewhere that has description and images for replacing the door mirror. I did mine last year, wasn't as awkward as it seemed, just had to take care with removing the door handle, for such a chunky car it doesn't half have some fiddly weak clips here and there
Hope you got it done ok.
