I've nearly received clearance from my wife for buying a frontrunner roofrack (220mm long) . The main question I still have is whether it would fit another car (like a Defender 110) as well. If not, what makes it fit only on a Discovery 3.
Thanks,

Klaas,
I have one, following the group purchase, but I'm afraid I don't have a 110 to offer a complete comparison - perhaps AndrewS may be able to offer a better opinion on using the rack with another LR.
The 2.2m rack has 4 pairs of legs, 3 of which mount into the track (LR or FR), 1
is longerand screws to a existing threaded hole over the driver and passenger section. The legs mount to the rack in slots in the cross members, so can move across the width of the rack. The legs are in two parts, a section that mounts to the rack, and a section that mounts to the track, joined with a single M8x16 bolt.
Thus, if you could get the square nuts that travel in the roof track to fit a 110 track, then you could get another pair of the 'regular' legs to keep the weight loading. Otherwise, you could possibly join 110 mounts to the FR rack mount section at the M8x16 bolt point.
I'm not near a scanner today, but if you want, I can send you the roof rack mount diagramme to assist you. Otherwise, from Baben's experience of them, I'm sure FR would be able to help you in determining a 110 mount. I guess you'd be buying ffrom Trekk, given your location, so they might be able to assist too. Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Thanks for the explanation. As the legs can move across the width of the rack, it makes it more flexible to fit another car. If the legs don't fit, I assume I can use roof bars on a def 110, and attach the rack that way (removing the legs that frontrunner supplied).
Thanks again,

It should fit, should just need different legs
To be sure why not ask Front Runner themselves? The End

As Slimer indicated It depends if Frontrunner do a gutter mount for the 110. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

They make the racks in anything up to 2.8m long for the defender and being from SA, I daresay you could get feet for a 110. Have a nice day!

Have a look at their site:
http://www.frontrunner.co.za/vehicle_prods/landrover.html
They actually mention that a lot of the products can be used for multiple purposes
I think the FR racks we bought can all be used on various vehicles, because of the mounting system. Just drop Wayne from FR an email and he'll confirm for you
