Bulbs for Europe
I seem to recall that I need to carry a set of bulbs (electric ones suitable for the car) when I venture across Europe next week. The set that I previously had for my TD5 won't be suitable, I assume.
Does anyone have any suggestions about what is required, and where I might get some/a set from.
Also what about the Zenon (sp) Headlights, are these 'lifetime' as I read somewhere, or should I take a spare for them as well. Coffeecup

Coffeecup, you have a very good point about zenons. In law, especially in France you must carry a spare set of bulbs, but zenonx are of a lifetime guarantee and an absolute fortune to buy just to carry as spares. I will try to find out for you on Monday as it is a question that I need to answer too.
For anyone travelling abroad I have produced a CD telling you all about everything you should need to know from motorcycles to trucks and car/caravans. It also includes embassy addresses and a whole lot more. If anyone is interested it will cost the usual very low price for site members. PM me if interested.

It's also a good idea to check www.fco.gov.uk - even if you're not taking the disco 3....

Also the Zenons are only replaceable by a qualified engineer according to 'The Book'
LR do a bulb kit for the D3, I got one off Duckworth Dan, part no. VUB501080
Coffecup, if it's just a quick trip take the TD5 kit, it would take a fairly close inspection to determine it's the wrong one and some of the bulbs are probably the same anyway. If it's a longer trip get the right kit just in case you actually need to use something out of it.
Don't forget to take a warning triangle and a yellow vest (especially if you're going to Spain)

I have the bulb kit and it does not contain the Zenon... obviously it would cost far more !
