What are the best deals at the moment on an SE?
Hi newby here. I have developed an unhealthy interest in getting a Disco3. What are the best deals about at the moment? Also where would you recommend I purchace from? (I'm based in Preston but spend most weekends in the Lakes).
Allthough I'm unsure of all the different options my ideal spec would be an SE with the auto box (you do get leather with the SE right?)
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
8) if you want auto in my opinion you are just as well with a hse ( auto, metallic, 19" alloys and sun roof all standard) try Lakeland in coniston they did me a good deal

The online brokers often have some very good prices. Try broadspeed.com and drivethedeal.co.uk There are others as well if you can be arsed to Google for them. Never tried them myself but I intend to in the near future.
Hope that helps and good luck

Great deals
Don't want to make you sick or anything but I have ordered my SE through Land Rover Military Sales at 13% off list price, including options. Before that I looked at Motorlogix quotes, theirs were pretty close, but you have to include their £470 broker's fee.
If you haven't got access to someone in the military try them for a quote at www.motorlogix.com Have also heard good things from people who have used www.autoebid.com, a similar service by getting dealers to outbid for your business. Friend of mine saved over £5000 on his Mercedes C220 and was very happy. Complicated for part-ex though.
Sorry if I have been no use at all!

Thanks guys, you say I should just go for the HSE over the SE. Won't there be a big price hike?

I wouldn't pay more than £38k for an HSE, unless you need it ASAP.
It's possible to actually pay less than that, I did, but in my case I had to wait 3 months & the deal wasn't confirmed 100% until the last moment. That was a bit scary, but I wasn't in a hurry & I was prepared to wait to get a really good deal.
P.S It's all down to the dealers "end of quarter" figures, so end of Dec. will be the next time for such a deal.

I used Broadspeed for a very respectable discount. Not first choice colour, but collected the same day, which kind of made up for it. Excellent service, I thought.

Also, if you go for a 2006 model, you will probably get a good deal. The 07's are just now coming out....
Be sure it get's the software patches, TSB actions, etc...negotiated as part of the agreement - don't even take it home without that done.

Azzure111s - how was the whole Broadspeed experience? I'm thinking of using them myself. Did you p/x and if so how did that go?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
i think that these internet companies (Broadspeed, motorlogix etc) are all well and good but i would still buy my cars from a dealer that i could sit down and talk to and use the quotes to leaver a better deal. i may be traditional in my views but if you have any problems you have someone to go back to and you normaly find that they bendover backwards to help you, to me and others i have chatted to this is worth £££'s.
yes i know that you can take it back anywhere, but if you have dealt with them from the start you have a better argument for there assistance.
rant over
oh its places like these that are F ing up local economies
Drive the dealer for a deal but BUY FROM LOCAL SOURCES
now its over

When I bought from Motorlogix, initial pricing quote was with them, but then ALL dialogue thereafter was with the supplying dealer (who is only 40 miles from me anyway). Motorlogix really did just act as broker. No other dealer I spoke to would or could get anywhere near the price - though bear in mind that due to my inclusion of leather on an S, it would have to be a factory order, rather than from stock somewhere. Had my desired spec meant that one could be found in stock, the price may have been closer.

Good rant Theowl! but if our local dealers offered us the best deal in the first place we would not have to search around. I blame LR for this especially when imports of British built cars cost less. I would always go to my local dealer if the price is good (not the best) and they treat me well!Loving the power of the TDV8!
