Hi everyone, picked my new D3 "S" up on Friday and have been throughly enjoying the vehicle over the weekend, especially in the rain.
When I brought the vehicle home this evening I noticed there were quite a few bubbles in the privacy glass.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I will call the dealers tomorrow and get them to look at the car but it looks to me as if the windows have been tinted after the vehicle was delivered (and they have not done a particularly good job of it!).
I take it the privacy glass should be factory installed and therefore it should be checked before making on to the car (I added privacy glass as an option on my order form as well as PTI).
Looks like someone could be replacing a few windows in the near future!! 2006 TDV6 S Auto Java Black

Factory fit privacy glass is tinted glass not a film so sounds like they forgot to add it to your order. 7 new pieces of the correct glass required me thinks The End

and if this is the case name and shame the dealer. Basically theft because for resale factory fitted is more desirable! Loving the power of the TDV8!

There was a post recently on this subject with a suggestion to check the glass before accepting delivery!
You really should pay closer attention to disco3.co.uk!

Look on the bright side. At least this way it isn't permanent and you can peel it all off when you get fed up of looking like a drug dealer or pimp!

Looks like you got the continental solution.
Outside UK privacy glass is only possible on HSE models. me off as i wanted the SE with privacy glass. And i dont like the look when it is done with film.
Compare yours to "real" tinted glass and you will notice big difference.
Also colored glass is forever - film will sometimes start to faint, pell or crack over years and it can be scratched easily.
Cheers

I bought a D3 recently and when I was shopping around I was disappointed by how many dealers quoted it as a "dealer fit option" passing off that it was the same thing. Factory Fitted Privacy Glass is a one way tinted glass, not a film.
I don't think I would want all the glass in and out of a new car if I had specified Factory Fitted - ask for a new car, sorry, INSIST on a new car.

Cheers for the responses, have spoken to the dealer this morning and am awaiting a response.
Unfortunately it was raining quite heavily on the morning I picked the car up and therefore spotting bubbles on rain covered windows was a little difficult. Plus after just getting off a 9 hour flight back from Cuba I think I can be excused for missing it! Jet lag and rain aside I have spotted it now.
All the elements are visible in the back 3 windows (think that was what was meant by the yellow lines question VeryAnnoyed?)
Will nip over to my local land rover dealers (just over from my office) and check another vehicle for comparison.
Agree that 7 window changes will hten lead to rattles and probable damage to the panels!
Thanks for responses will keep you posted on the progress. A little disappointed but love the car. 2006 TDV6 S Auto Java Black

Tell them if you'd wanted bubbles, you'd have bought an Aero bar!
Good luck with them.

It is fine if you know what you are getting and get what you are expecting.
I think it is something fundamentally different to get Sellotape when you are expecting glass.

Looking on the positive side, an advantage of tints for resale is that the buyer can easily remove them if they didn't want tinted glass.
I didn't want tints, as IMO a black D3 with factory tinted glass can look like a van, as you cant tell the windows from the paint in some lights. Not an issue with other colours though.
