Greetings from new member - and first question
Hi all,
it's my first time at this forum. Sorry in advance for potential poor language - I'm from Slovenia
I'm kind of planning to "invest" into D3, somewhere spring 2007. However following topics on this forum, I'm a bit worried about the quality issues. One general question therefore - are D3s getting any better over time? Is Landrover improving electronics, installations (or whatever needs to be fixed and improved). My only hope is my Disco to be a bit more mature then the ones from 2004,5,6. I'm a right or just being naive?

Welcome Klemen - your English is fine (much better than my Slovenian !?)
Quality is improving as the model matures (this is normal for all cars)
The majority of what you tend to see on forums like this is compaints about problems. People don't often come on them and just say "there is nothing wrong with my car" - though you will find on here lots of people saying how good the Disco 3 is!!!
And it is a fantastic car! Its the best car I have ever owned. Do buy one!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

That's what I would expect, of course, but reading old posts seems to me the same (or very similar) problems to be occuring rather frequently no matter when specific car was produced. Newer owners reports the same problems as the older ones...
But yes, I understand people tend to raise the voice when something's wrong and not when everything's fine.

I think if you look at the dates on these posts, they are showing up less and less all the time. There are now very few people with suspension faults (for example). A year ago there were quite a few posts from people with that fault. The Discovery 3 is a better car now than when launched.Disco 5 HSE Lux

I am now 15 months into my D3. Yes a few problems, but dealer has been excellent, issues solved, service outstanding and yes, it is the best car I have owned (and also the most expensive). Do I regret the decision to buy - not at all. Go for it! 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Got my D3 HSE just 2 days ago.
Fantastic vehicle, this is not a car it is a vehicle, love it, love looking at it, love sitting in it, love driving it and I will admit it I love showing it off to friends and family. Loads of party tricks.
It's giving me h**d on just writing about it.
GO FOR IT.........there is not one word that can describe this vehicle.

I have one of the very first D3's, and it has now done 54000 miles. It had suspension issues early on which have been fixed since 8500 miles.
The only problem that I have that is persistant, is the electronic park brake that refuses to work reliably. Its an auto so I just don't use it anymore. I know the system can be made to work but I cannot afford the time off the road to get it fixed.
I have another year to go with mine, then I will be getting another one.
