fitting driving lamps

Folks

Got me self a nice pair of LR Safari 5000's (like I had on my TD5), as I think the genuine D3 driving lights are a bit, well, girly Rolling Eyes

I'll sort out mounting so that the grill can still be removed, and I was intending connecting using the "old fashioned" way of a relay and trigger this from a feed linked to the main beam feed. With all the electrickery in this thing, is there any issue/problem in doing it this way.

Cheers
Al

Yep, that's pretty much it, jus be aware that the wiring diagram on GTR that I got the wiring colours from appears to be transposed in real life Rolling Eyes think its due to the LHD/RHD differences... there's only one of either colour on each side so you should be OK

thanks chaps - should have looked for a thread first - sorry.

Just one question, in the past, I've never bothered with the switch, so that the driving lamps always come on with main beam. Is this not allowed now, as I dont really want to be running wires through bulkheads or finding places for switches.

Al, as mentioned, there should be a switch to comply with construction & use regs, it's possible to use the LR switch kit (DG knows the part number) without having to buy the LR wiring loom or needing the dealer to activate the software in the CJB... It also saves getting grief from plod Rolling Eyes

I think we're lining up here for a group driving lights fit, aren't we?

DG indicated that 10 took about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to do his

Steve, that included a few 'beer breaks' and making up the wiring loom - the LR one should be about 2 hours to fit...

Good idea! Someone who knows what to do to watch over us whilst we drill holes into our D3's!
