aftermarket warranty rejection/success reasons
There has been lots of talk about the costs of aftermarket warranties. I would like to understand the reasons and how many times the warranty company have decided not to pay a claim. could you possibly log your "claim" here on this thread and the reason for refusal. This way I think we can understand the pitfalls when paying up good money to warranty our cars, and learn to maximise successful outcomes when dealing with our warranty companies.?
I called my warranty company the "AA"- prestige cover policy, and claimed my egr replacement. They told me the EGRS are not listed in the policy so they are not covered. I accepted that....after reading my policy fully.
I think to keep it simple we should just list the claims and reasons for passing or failing the claim on here....

Warranty Direct
Claim 1: 1 track rod end and associated parts - paid no problems (done by non LR specialist hence the second claim not long after)
Claim 2: other track rod end and front lower suspension arms - paid no problems (Done by TFC in heavy snow! )
Will probably go with them again

come on, is nobody else want to list how their warranty company has has done what they said they would do, or have tried to wriggle out of claims?? This can only help us to see what company is really worth going with......

WD done wheel bearing, brake caliper, few other bits & pieces but forgotten what.
Clutch failure. Land Rover Approved Warranty. Refuse to pay as dealer told them it was "worn" - at 25k miles, eh? C mon, we need 100's to get statistical data to report independantly on these warranty dealers otherwise known as wa-stealers........

EGR's failed. Warranty company would only pay for 1.
Apparently it's rare that they both fail together and if one had failed earlier then that had caused the other to fail sometime later then that's my fault for not fixing the first one.

Warranty Direct - Refused to pay out for front brake caliper which had a seized piston. The old 'wear and tear' excuse and I wasn't covered in the first 90 days of the warranty.

90 days exclusion shouldn't apply if you are coming from a warranty, is that the case?
I too will be interested in the results of this topic, I'm looking for a warranty and at the moment WD looks favourable.I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.
