Having a hard time talking to voice recognition

A colleague of mine has a Range Rover (full fat version, not diet sport) & the voice recognition just doesn’t understand anyone !

So after several lengthy attempts to get it working, not to mention some very embarrassing demo sessions when the car was new, he’s just given up altogether.

Oh well, yet another unnecessary over complicated system that doesn’t work !

voice recognition

I am in NZ.... Right hand drive....... I have always fitted handsfree kits with the mic monted somewhere around the hand hold above drivers door. That is the closest place to my voice and also points away from road noise. I am going to modify my mic (at present fitted around front interior light), and report back.
 Near enough 40 degrees South!!!
