What else is required?

In changing from halogens to xenons, what other kit is required? Is the ballast and all associated gubbins included within the replacement lamp unit such that it is plug and play? Or is there a need for other bits that will be fixed around the lamp area?

I've seen on the HIDS4U setup that replacing the standard bulbs with a HID kit will leave the ballast and other bits zip tied to the framework around the lamp. But if you buy a xenon headlamp unit, does this make things neater?

If standard D3 xenons (non bendy round corner ones) then straight and easy swap. Take the halogens out & put the xenons in. Easypeasy.

Dr Rick, Replacement L/R xenons are big money, and you will need them enabling on the cars software after you have fitted em.

I didn't need any enabling, worked straight away. £300 to £350 for a set generally.

There's a set on The Bay which the seller bought in error (don't know how you can do this). They were after halogens and bought xenons. I was wondering what it would take to switch out hte halogens I have on my GS; simple swap of the units, plus the mentioned 'activation' in the background, or whether there were additional gubbins that I'd need to purchase over and above the lamp units.

Turns out there may be a 'cheaper' alternative. Mentioned on another forum here is halogen units with LEDS, and I could install some brighter xenon type bulbs as opposed to going full xenon units.
