Looking at other LR Discussion Groups, found the following interesting details of an approach in teh US to Nolia themselves! See:- http://lrchroniclepub.proboards29.com/inde...p;start=75
Rather seems that the responsibility for failing to implement the PTI accessory pack properly lies firmly with LR - time for mass representation direct to LR on this issue?

The only details they like to give out are as per www.landrover.co.uk ie a phone & postal address - I have a fax number as well somewhere if that would help? Also, remember they are part of Ford's PAG (Premium Auto Group?) so you could also try going direct to Ford's group management!!

Just purchased LR3 HSE with most options. Quite disgruntled that I cannot get an answer from anyone at the dealership or from LR themselves on Bluetooth information.. Can anyone advise me on this matter. Also, rubber floor mats have holes for latch down knobs, but no knobs are fitted in the vehicle. It shows the mats in the catalogs and website, but not what they give you. Navigation system froze up today and locked the radio also. First time buyer. Own Toyota, Porsche and Lexus and have had good experiences. Any advice. Thank You in advance.

Mike - yes the PTI issue is (along with LR's failure to keep owners up to date with what software upgrades are being produced) probably the most annoying of the cars failures. Especially as all the pre-launch literature alluded to it being part of the vehicle & quite frankly what is the point of the monstrosity of a radio keypad if it doesn't work anything!! FYI there seem to be 3 parties involved - LR who have overall control, Alpine who make the radio system which include the Bus Master unit, and Nolia who make the telephone kit. The latter 2 seem shocked at the adverse feedback & lack of use of their products. Despite what LR may claim, there is no technical reason for an aftermarket kit not integrating - the whole system is based on an optical bus sending digital signals & it is down to how the (LR) software is configured. Suggest that you complain direct to the VP at Ford PAG of which LR forms a part. Also, lobby Nokia & Alpine on the issue.
UK LR cust service advise that kit will work & do not need the voice control pack if you already have that with SatNav - they also advise that a 2nd build of the kit is due in March (inference beingit would have more features) but present dealer fit kit just provides a voice activated Bluetooth handsfree system with NO use of the controls in the Infotainment systems!, so a waste of time in my view.
I have full rubber mats in an HSE - they are held (neatly) in position by screw in catches (except the load space mat)
Good Luck & keep us advised

Hi - have finally had an e-mail from LR (trying to get details on the PTI system but they don't appear to have it!!) - interestingly the chap I am dealing with has an e-mail of xxxxxx@ford.com !!! & in the e-mail "from" header, after his e-mail it says:-
Customer Care, Corp. (.) [lradvice@landrover.com]. Apart from confirming my worst suspicions that LR would be Americanised, it does at least give us the LR e-mail address of lradvice@landrover.com but this is possibly an international address rather than localised to UK? Let us know how you get on.

I think I will give the lradvice@landrover.com address a go.
Cheers

Response finally from LR CS (after it was apparently fully vetted by their PR people as they knew it would be published!!):-
"Bluetooth Capability.
Supported features: Making calls, receiving calls, rejecting incoming calls, ending active calls, last number redial, voice recognition (if Voice Control Unit is purchased in conjunction with Bluetooth kit). Features of Voice Recognition: Dial number, redial, dial name, store name, play directory, delete directory, delete name, help function.
Unsupported features: Text messaging, call waiting, mobile-sourced phone book, hold/unhold active call.
Calls answered/made using the two stalk switches. Press "Telephone/Voice Recognition" switch to mute radio and use voice commands to make call. Pressing this switch will also answer call (radio will be muted automatically if phone is in Bluetooth signal range and has phone has been manually connected to Bluetooth before commencing driving).
Cradles not available until April 2005. However, up to 4 phones can be "paired" with the vehicle for Bluetooth use without cradle, priority goes to the phone last used in Bluetooth mode in the vehicle. "
Am still waiting to hear if it integrates with any ofthe displays (I think not, in which case it is a rather expensive unit for its features) - see Nige's report at http://lrchroniclepub.proboards29.com/inde...1106681753 for a first hand account of the unit & its (lack of) features.
