Rubbing Noises - some speed related others when cold

I'm sure it's not my imagination any more but when setting off from cold in the morning or if the car's been left a while, there seems to be a groaning coming from somewhere. This happens every morning for the first mile or so but today I had to leave the car for 2-3 hours (in access mode) and when I set off (having returned to normal height) there was a slight graoning noise again for the first couple of miles. It got worse under medium brisk (not flooring it) acceleration but then disappeared after a few miles.

Now semsible folk would have left it at that, but then I opened the rear o/s window on the B roads and there was a definite speed related noise which at first sounded like a flat tyre but the pressures are all fine. It's dark now but I'll check the tread for stones/nails etc.

Done 1,500 miles from new, DEC10 registered, suspension raises to off-road height and down to access height with no excessive noise. Any other ideas please or is it a trip to the dealer ? If so, who's best around Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, Leeds (see other post in Dealer Feedback).

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

Dunc, no the wheels are cool enough to touch even on the inside - and that was after 10 miles of motorway followed by dual carriageway virtually to the door.

Top tip - retract the luggage cover and the speed related noise goes away Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Still got the slightly strained graunch though - it's starting to sound like an exhaust f Censored rt Rolling with laughter
